For China to reach its “dual carbon” aim, the digital economy presents both opportunities and obstacles. This paper examines potential impact of development on regional carbon dioxide emissions, concluding that while direct emissions through industrial structure upgrading technological progress is unclear, indirect promoting energy transformation positive clear. research experimentally validates results a theoretical analysis using panel data from 30 Chinese provinces 2011 2019 STIRPAT model discovers an inverted U-shaped association between emissions.
